About the guide
The Consular Guide is a demo of a smart guide for Ukrainian citizens abroad and for foreigners holding a Ukrainian residence permit. You describe the situation in your own words, and the guide explains what to do and names the consular services you need.
Where the answers come from
The guide answers only from entries that its team compiled and checked against the legislation in force (the Consular Statute of Ukraine, laws, resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers, orders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — zakon.rada.gov.ua) and the pages of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Under every answer you will find the consular services with their official names, the legal provisions with links to articles and paragraphs, and the official pages.
Where a provision is ambiguous or practice varies, the guide adds a separate note on interpretation: what exactly is unclear and what to check with the consul.
What the guide does not do
- It makes no decisions and promises no outcome: the consul decides each case.
- It does not book appointments: you book them in the e-Queue at e-consul.gov.ua.
- It does not make up facts: what is not in the entries is not in the answer either.
Languages
You can ask in Ukrainian, Russian, English or Italian — the answer comes in the language of your question. The guide's entries are in Ukrainian, so the official names of consular services and legal acts are given in Ukrainian.
Comments
Under every answer you can rate it and leave a comment, without registering. Comments are visible to everyone who opens the conversation; the guide's team handles each one and replies under it. Do not write names, document numbers or addresses in questions and comments.
